We are a family owned and operated business serving the people of Middle
Georgia. Growing up in this area, our desire is to provide you and your
families with the freshest produce, along with making this community aware
of the importance of healthy eating. Give us a try!
We are Certified Organic by
the Georgia Crop Improvement Association (GCIAOCP), and we have a license
to distribute 100% Certified Organic Produce by the United States
Department of Agriculture.
Why
Organic?
Protect Future Generation
Children receive four times the exposure than an adult to widely used
cancer-causing pesticides in food. The food choice you make now will impact
your child's health in the future.
Keep chemicals off your plate
Many pesticides approved for use by the EPA have been linked to chemicals
that cause cancer and other diseases. Pesticides are poisons designed to
kill living organisms, and they can be harmful to humans. In addition to
cancer, pesticides can cause birth defects, nerve damage and genetic
mutation.
Help Small Farmers
Most organic farms are small independently owned and operated family farms
of less than 100 acres. In the past decade, the United States has lost more
than 650,000 family farms. The US Department of Agriculture is predicting
that half of this country's farm production will come from 1% of farms by
the year 2006. Organic farming could become one of the few hopes left for
family farms.
Support a True Economy
Although organic food might seem more expensive than conventional foods,
conventional food prices do not reflect hidden cost borne by taxpayers.
Hidden costs include regulation of pesticide and testing, disposal and
cleaning of hazardous waste, and damage to the environment.
Tastes Better
There's a good reason why many chefs use organic foods in their recipes.
They taste better because the produce is natural.
Food Storage and Delivery Tips
DELIVERY TIPS
- If it is warm outside, please remember to leave a cooler outside for
the produce. We will be glad to put your produce in the cooler when we
deliver.
- Sometimes, we will have to make last minute changes in delivery based
on the freshness of the produce. Even though we try our best to deliver
the freshest produce, items can go bad at times even during the delivery
process. Certain items emit gases that accelerate the ripening of other
items. When you receive your produce, it is best to separate the items
as quickly as possible. If you have some produce delivered that is bad,
please contact us within 24 hours, and we will make it up to you on your
next box.
- Remember that local organic produce does not always look like the
produce in a grocery store, but it will always be healthier and taste
better.
- Please remember to put your previous week’s box outside where we can
pick up when we deliver your produce.
